UPVLC is a public institution devoted to higher education, and to research and development (R&D) activities founded in 1973. The main scientific and technological domains are information and communication technologies, electric, electronic, mechanical and chemical engineering, civil engineering, architecture, food and agricultural technologies, business sciences and fine arts.

The Real-Time Systems group has a large experience in the development of real-time systems and in the field of real-time systems scheduling theory including dynamic scheduling slack-stealing algorithms, kernels for embedded real-time systems, protocols for mode changes and tasks models with optional parts. Other research areas are the development of POSIX functionalities and adaptations of protocols for real-time networking and distributed computing.
