Ikerlan is a private, non-profit Technological Research Centre, with a vocation for public service. It was set up in 1974 in the heart of what today is Mondragon Cooperative Corporation (MCC). This
Corporation is the leading business group in the Basque area and is one of the top-ranking groups in Spain. Ikerlan specialises in the development of architectures giving access to distributed functions using standards. These architectures (distributed by means of standard middleware -COM/DCOM/COM+/CORBA/Remoting/WS- on platforms -NET/J2EE-) combine aspects of software components and the web aimed at facilitating and speeding up the development of new products, optimising the integrated management of their life cycle. Ikerlan has wide experience in intelligent processing (fuzzy, neuronal networks, genetic algorithms, expert systems) which enables it to tackle complex systems, in order to obtain simple, autonomous and ubiquitous solutions.
